This website continues your exploration of biology
and scientific concepts, and gives you practice using computers and the internet for study and research.

| From the navigation bar on the left: |
- Choose a virtual lab to visit.
- Go to that lab and complete an exercise from the selection
presented.
- Go to the contact page and submit completed reports to your professor by email. (In
some exercises, completed work is submitted in class.)
- Note and meet the deadline dates!

| Goals of KCC Biology Department's WebLab: |
- To read and display through writing an understanding of scientific literature. This requires the self-discipline to spend whatever time is necessary to complete assignments neatly and completely.
- To build self-confidence by thoroughly preparing and then presenting a scientific report orally to one's peers. This requires the self-control to concentrate on assigned reading in books and at internet sites.
- To complete an independent science project at home and write-up the results for evaluation. This requires the ability to sacrifice a certain amout of personal social time to provide the hours necessary to complete assigned work.
- To build competence and confidence in computer usage.
- To encourage resourcefulness through independent internet research and responsibility through adherence to rules and specified deadlines.
