PROJECTS
Each student must choose one of the following written projects:
  1. Term Paper
  2. Museum Report
  3. Book Report
The project selected must be handed in on time. It must conform to the guidelines provided.

EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENTS
If performed satisfactorily, extra-credit assignment will raise your final grade. You may mail in your answers to the questions in "WEB ASSIGNMENTS" (marked with with an asterisk). You may also ask questions about the source readings you have examined on the internet. The deadline for posting the answers or questions is the following Monday after each assignment.

EXAMINATIONS AND GRADING
There will be two examinations on the dates designated below (35 per cent each if extra credit work is handed in on time; without the extra credit option, each examination will be worth 45 per cent). Exam format: multiple choice, identifications, and essays. Essays will be evaluated for factual accuracy, specific reference to assigned texts and organizational coherence. Class participation (10 per cent); extra credit work: museum report, book report, research paper (20 per cent)
