The Advisement Time Line
Ensuring a successful academic career at Kingsborough Community College has its foundations in the Advisor/Student relationship. Through this relationship, students can explore the college as well as the vast oppportunities available to them upon graduation with the guidance and support of their Advisor. In turn, maintaining this relationship becomes the mutual responsibility of the Advisor and student.
Students should keep the following in mind:
- Students should always meet with an Advisor prior to the fall/winter and spring/ summer registration periods.
- It is the responsibility of the students to keep advisement appointments with their Advisors.
- In the event that students would like to be seen as a walk-in, they are encouraged to visit the Advisement Center, but there is no guarantee that an Advisor will be available to meet with you on that day.
- Students should have an idea of what courses they would like to take Prior to meeting with an Advisor.
- Students who plan to register for the winter and/or summer modules should inform their Advisor during their respective fall and spring appointments.
