ARB 1-- Elementary Arabic I (4 crs. 4 hrs.)

This course is for students interested in acquiring a solid base in reading, writing, listening, and speaking Arabic. Through use of authentic spoken and written sources from across the Arab world, including the Holy Quran, students will become acquainted with the sounds, alphabet, vocabulary, grammar and structures of the language.

Students will make extensive use of interactive laboratory and audio-visual materials to foster their conversation and comprehension skills.

No previous knowledge of the Arabic language or writing expected. Step-by-step teaching is made accessible to all learners.

Arabic is offered at most 4 year colleges. The credits you receive here at Kingsborough in Arabic can be transferred to most institutions of higher learning.

ArabicARB 2—Elementary Arabic II (4 crs. 4 hrs.)
Further development of language skills, comprehension, speaking, reading and writing.
Through use of authentic spoken and written sources from across the Arab world, including the Holy Quran, students will solidify their knowledge of Arabic grammar, vocabulary and the structures of the language.

Students will make extensive use of interactive laboratory and audio-visual materials to foster their conversation and comprehension skills.

Step-by-step teaching is made accessible to all learners.

Arabic is offered at most 4 year colleges. The credits you receive here at Kingsborough for taking Arabic can be transferred to most institutions of higher learning.

General note: Students who already know Arabic are welcome to register for a seat in a course that fits their schedule. You will be given separate advanced work and will meet separately with the professor to go over your writing and grammar.
