The Ramona Hills Fire Department

The Ramona Hills Fire Department (RHFD) is a volunteer agency protecting the lives of the more than 200,000 people who live in the greater Ramona Hills area. With over 100 uniformed personnel dedicated to protecting life, property, and the environment, we are engaged in fire prevention, fire fighting, emergency medical care, building and automobile rescue, hazardous materials removal, disaster readiness and response, public and community fire prevention awareness, and ambulance service to the community. Last year alone, the men and women of the RHFD responded 2,487 times to come to the aid of their neighbors in times of peril.

Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Awareness and Prevention Month

This month, we are highlighting the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning. Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas that is highly toxic and can cause death in a short period of time. Because there is no warning of danger, carbon monoxide poses a serious threat. Carbon monoxide can come from charcoal grills, wood-burning furnaces, fireplaces, and motor vehicles.
