As members of the Kingsborough Community College community, I ask you
to please join me in a moment of silence and prayer as we extend our
heartfelt and profound sympathy to President Charles W. Steger, the
students, faculty, staff and families of students at Virginia
Tech. It was an unimaginable and horrific tragedy that befell their
campus yesterday, claiming the lives of more than 32 individuals and
injuring at least 16 others.
This event is of staggering proportions, one that has not been seen
before in our history and we hope never to see repeated. May the
collective concern and support offered by all of us, their colleagues
in colleges across the country, be a source of strength and comfort
as they begin the process of rebuilding and restoring normalcy to their campus.
Many of us have been deeply touched by these events and should you
wish to talk about your feelings, counseling services are available
in room D102.
