Vaccination Requirement

  • Students who are new and/or returning to campus and attending in-person and hybrid classes, or events, for the Fall 2022 semester are required to be fully vaccinated, and must have up-to-date vaccination documentation uploaded and approved in CUNYfirstten (10) days before classes begin. The Fall 2022 semester starts on September 9.
  • If your vaccination documents are already approved in CUNYfirst, you do not need to re-submit them, but they must include proof of being up to date which includes a booster when eligible. Boosters not required to attend classes, but are encouraged.
  • All students (except those with approved exemptions or exceptions) must have up-to-date vaccinations in order to enter any CUNY facility, or show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within the past seven days at a CUNY testing site.
  • The deadline to apply for a religious exception or medical exemption for the Fall 2022 semester is July 25, 2022. Late submissions will be considered, but the deadline is in place to ensure that anyone denied will have ample time to receive the vaccine before the start of the semester.
  • Failing to upload your proof of vaccination will cause you to be subject to potential academic withdrawal before classes begin that could also impact your financial aid and make you ineligible for refunds for the courses.
  • You must these four things to attend classes for the Fall 2022 semester.

Student Athletes

  • As recently announced by the Chancellor, EUA-authorized COVID-19 vaccines are now required for all student athletes prior to being permitted to participate in any CUNY athletic activity, and regardless of FDA approval. Student athletes may receive a CUNY-approved exemption for medical or religious reasons but must then follow our COVID-19 testing protocols and or other related requirements.
