KINGSBOROUGH HONORS PROGRAM HONORS COURSE OFFERINGS SPRING 2009

Registration Directions: Be advised that you can register online for any of the courses listed below if you have a GPA of 3.20 or higher and have completed 12 credits or more (beyond developmental courses) at Kingsborough. First-time Honors course registrants and returning students who have questions can speak with the Honors counselor, Mrs. Birzin, every Monday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the Honors House in M377B, by phone at (718) 368-5365 on those days, or by e-mail anytime at Janebirzin@aol.com.   The Honors House secretary, Mrs. Tzila Waksman, can also help you register.  She is in the office Monday through Thursday from 9:00-2:00 p.m. Please Note:  If you have already completed registration for the Winter and/or Spring term and wish to make a program change to add one or more Honors courses, the Honors House staff will make the change for you and waive the change-of-program fee.

Click to view Honors Course Offerings Spring 2009 (pdf) Honors Enrichment Projects If you cannot find an Honors class that fits your schedule and/or degree program, or you wish to do extra or more in-depth work in a particular course not listed as an Honors course, you have the option to contract with one or more of your professors to conduct a rigorous, independent study Honors Enrichment Project.  To register, you must first attend one of the following meetings where guidelines and contract forms will be distributed:  Friday, 2/29 - 1:00-2:00 p.m. OR Tuesday, 3/4 - 3:00-4:30 p.m. in Room M239.  Students who elect to do an Honors Enrichment Project must also meet with the Honors Academic Liaison from the appropriate department and course professor to identify a topic, file a weekly plan of action, and attend regularly scheduled meetings with their faculty mentor throughout the term.  Only students who earn a grade of “A-” or higher on their projects will have an Honors notation added to the course on their official college transcript.
