Hurry, High-demand classes fill up quickly!

Start & End Dates:
Saturday Classes begin Oct 9th and end Dec 4th.
Sunday Classes begin Oct 10th and end Dec 5th.


Half Day Choices of AM Program: 9:45am-Noon
Every student enrolls for two (2) courses, only one of which
may be ACTIVE.
You may choose:
• 2 Academic Classes, (1 hour each) or
• 1 Academic Class (1 hour) and 1 Active Class (1 hour)


Full-Day Program (Sat. only): 9:45am-3:15pm
The full-day College For Kids program gives the children two
more sessions and includes a nutritious lunch. Each student
enrolls for 4 courses, only two of which may be ACTIVE.
Active courses may not be taken consecutively. For the
afternoon, students may only choose a course marked with
a PM.
Note: Students cannot enroll in the afternoon program only.
You may choose:
• 4 Academic Classes (1 hour each) or
• 2 Academic Classes and 2 Active Classes


Course Days & Times:
Saturday and/or Sunday Morning: 9:45-10:45 am and
11am-12noon.
Saturday Afternoon:1-2pm and 2:15-3:15 pm. (Afternoon
courses available for full-day students only. Lunch from
12:15-12:45pm)
Please indicate choices for the first, second, third and fourth
hours on the registration form.
Note: No class transfers after the second class session.


Course Fees - Morning Only (Sat and/or Sun):
• $85 for two classes plus a $25 non-refundable registration
fee and materials fees where indicated.

Course Fees - Full-Day Saturday Only (AM and PM):
• $215 for four classes (includes lunch), plus a $25 nonrefundable
registration fee and materials fees where indicated.

Note to Parents:
• Classes are generally small and the exciting curriculum is
taught by instructors who truly enjoy being a part of this
special program, resulting in the educational enrichment of your child(ren).
• An emergency medical consent form is required for every
child. This form must be turned into the office on the first day.
• Children change classes like real college students.
Parents can only escort children to and from classes and are
not allowed to remain in the buildings.
• Parents are encouraged to show first-time students how to
get to their classrooms the first day, since children are not
escorted individually. College Assistants, identifiable by
badges, are on hand to direct students. Children attending a
full-day program are escorted to and from lunch in groups.
• Parents themselves may enroll in a Saturday or Sunday morning course.
• In order to drive on campus, parents must purchase a
parking permit for $22. Permits are available on a first-come,
first-served basis. If you do not have a parking permit,
please arrange for your child(ren) to meet you at a predesignated location.
• Ipods, MP3 players, PSPs, Game Boys or other such games
and/or gadgets left unattended during classes are the
responsibility of the owner. KCC will NOT be liable for the loss
or theft of any items.

Six Year-Olds Program
CIK 06 SIX YEAR-OLDS PROGRAM Sat AM & PM and Sun AM
This program is aimed at introducing some of the more traditional CFK resources to six year-olds, on a limited and first-come, first-served basis. The program encourages six-year olds to explore, imagine and have fun, while in a learning environment. Six-year olds are not grouped with older children.

Note: These are 2-hour classes (9:45am-12:00noon) that include a short break. Please bring pencil and paper to every class.


CIK 01 Back to Basics: Grades 3-5 Sat AM & PM and Sun AM
Review the fundamentals in reading and math. Work at your
own pace to understand these important concepts.

CIK 77 Cooking for Kids Sat AM
Learn how to be safe in the kitchen while cooking a variety of
dishes. Students will mix, measure and stir up breakfast and
lunch, as well as a snack option. Kids will also learn about
nutrition and healthy choices while preparing their meals.
Designed for children 10-13 years old.

Academic Courses

CFK 01 Improve your Reading Skills Sat AM
Learn how to enjoy reading. Individual and small group
instruction designed to improve reading comprehension and
basic reading skills.

CFK 04 We Got the Beat SatSun AM
Rhythm is nature’s gift; our hearts beat and our breath flows
rhythmically. In this class you will learn to express your inner
rhythm through drumming techniques and the use of other
percussion instruments and movement from various cultures.

CFK 10 The A-Team Sat AM
Develop good study habits and test-taking skills.
Recommended for students 10-13 years of age.

CFK 11 Fun with Numbers
Sat AM
Math is presented in a fun, non-threatening fashion to
increase comfort levels and understanding in the subject.
Recommended for children 7-9 years of age.

CFK 12 ArithmaTRICKS Sat AM
Topics include: addition; subtraction; multiplication and
division; elapsed time; line and pie graphs; probability and
exponents, to improve and build upon number sense.
Recommended for children 10-13 years of age.

CFK 13 Compositions and Book Reports Sat AM
Learn to explain the theme, setting, plot and characters in an
organized and coherent fashion.

CFK 15 Chess: Beginner and Other Games of Strategy Sat AM
Brooklyn has produced some of the world’s greatest high
school and college chess teams. Get an early jump on the fun
and excitement of chess. Learn the basics while discovering
strategies for games such as Othello, Risk and Stratego.

CFK 16 Chess: Intermediate Sat PM
Open to students who have completed the Beginner’s class or
have previous chess experience and want to improve their skills.

CFK 17 Brazilian Portuguese: Introduction Sat PM
This beginner Portuguese class aims to develop your listening
and speaking skills. You will learn basic grammar, vocabulary,
practical communication skills and culture.

CFK 20 Conversational Spanish Sat PM
This Spanish class aims to develop your listening and speaking
skills. You will learn basic grammar, vocabulary and practical
communication skills.

CFK 23 Jewelry, Crafts and Wearable Arts Sat AM & PM
Create your own style! Make beautiful jewelry that you can wear.

CFK 25 Crime Busters Sat AM
An elementary introduction to detective science involving
riddles, crime-solving, case-breaking and crook-catching
activities. Learn to take and analyze fingerprints, detect
counterfeit money and more.

CFK 29 Magic Words NEW! Sat PM
Achieve your maximum potential by building confidence in
your social skills and entertaining etiquette. Learn values,
manners, poise and style.

CFK 30 Fairy Tales on Trial: Kids Court
NEW! Sat PM
Was Goldilocks a trespasser? Find out how our legal system
works and what would happen to fairy tale characters if we
put them on trial. In a simulation, you will be able to play a
role. Will you be judge, juror, prosecutor/defense attorney or
witness?

CFK 31 Gadgets, Gizmos and Goop
Sat AM & PM and Sun AM
Learn about simple forces and how they relate to the
everyday world around you. You can also experience life as a
mad scientist in a lab full of bubbling potions and mechanical
marvels.

CFK 32 Guitar: Beginner Sat AM
Learn basic chord patterns, picking techniques, and how to
tune your guitar. Bring a tuned acoustic guitar in good
condition, four picks, and an extra set of strings to class.

CFK 34 Marine Monsters Sat AM
If you like learning about fish, coral reefs and the deep sea,
this class is for you. Visit KCC’s very own aquarium as you
learn about the beauty and mystery that lies beneath the sea.

CFK 39 Fun with Magic SatSun AM
Entertain your family and friends with card tricks,
disappearing coins, balloons, and wiggling ropes. Be the life
of the party and learn the secrets of the masters.

CFK 41 Broadway - Here I Come! Sat AM
This introductory acting class will stress poise, script writing
and reading, stage direction, and vocal delivery. Be a star!

CFK 48 Piano: Beginner Sat AM & PM and Sun AM
Learn to play songs on the keyboard in this fun introductory
piano class. New songs every time!

CFK 55 Be An Artist Sat AM
You are introduced to the brush and ink and wash technique
of this unique medium. Paint landscapes and use your
imagination.

CFK 64 Game Show Marathon Sat AM
You watch them on TV, now here’s your chance to be a
contestant on a simulated TV game show! Sharpen your
vocabulary skills and knowledge while having fun!
Students will have an opportunity to appear on BCAT TV

CFK 66 Play it Rich NEW! Sat PM
Have an allowance? Spend it or save it? Learn the value of
money; how you earn it, why you should save it and how to
keep track of it. What is the difference between money and
credit cards?

CFK 71 Lego Architects
Sat AM & PM
Let your imagination guide you as you build planes, cars,
boats, buildings, or create your own animal or monster.

CFK 72 Around the World in 8 Days NEW! Sat PM and Sun AM
Get stamps on your passport as you virtually travel around the
world. Learn geography and history on a continent-bycontinent
basis.

CFK 77 Digital Rock Star NEW! Sat PM
Use the power of technology to create your own songs and
soundtracks. Explore the basics of song composition and track
editing.

Active Courses

CFK 80 Karate Kids Sat AM
Become skilled in self-control, physical coordination and
conditioning while learning forms, sparring and self defense.
This course is for all skill levels, even advanced belt levels are
possible in Tae Kwon Do.
Wear loose clothing.

CFK 82 Cricket Sat AM & PM
Learn the exciting team-building sport of cricket - the world’s
second most played sport. This course will introduce boys and
girls to the rudiments of the game.

CFK 83 Get Up and Move! Sat PM

Learn popular dances for fun and fitness. This upbeat class
will get you moving and show you how fun exercise can be.

CFK 84 Think You Can Dance? Sat AM
Put your dancing shoes on and join us in learning fun dances
and trendy dance moves including: popping, hip-hop, step,
salsa, swing and even the Cotton Eyed Joe!
Non-slip socks required.

CFK 90 Swimming Sat AM & PM and Sun AM
Learn the principles of swimming and basic water safety.
Beginners gain confidence in the water. For those with some
swimming ability, the emphasis is on kicking, stroking and
breathing.
Bring towel, swimsuit and a combination lock.
There is a minimum height requirement of 52" to enroll in swimming. You will be measured!


CFK 91 Volleyball for Kids Sun AM
Volleyball is an excellent way to socialize, while getting an
intense workout. You will learn the basic skills of volleyball
including the bump, set, pass, and serve while learning how
to work as a team unit.

CFK 93 Judo for Kids Sat PM
Improves agility, balance, coordination, strength and most
especially, aerobic fitness through the practice of judo.
Students begin with basic safety techniques (falling methods)
and progress to throwing and grappling techniques. This
unique class focuses on the competitive aspects of judo while
instilling the values of self-confidence, coordination, respect,
and discipline.

CFK 94 Indoor Soccer Sat AM
Learn the basic skills, rules and tactics of soccer. Begin each
class with simple warm-ups and stretching exercises. Practice
kicking, trapping, passing the ball, dribbling and shooting.
There will be a game that ends each class.
You must wear sneakers.

CFK 96 Basketball Sat AM & PM
Don’t sit on the bench! Learn the basic strategies and
regulations of basketball, including various offensive
maneuvers and defensive strategies. Learn to dribble and
jump-shoot like a pro!

CFK 97 Tennis Sat AM & PM and Sun AM
We provide instruction to help you develop the skills to
compete successfully at the ever-popular game of tennis.
Materials Required: One sealed can of 3 tennis balls and
an appropriately sized racquet.
