Members of KCTL's Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL)
group, led by Loretta Brancaccio Taras (Biological Sciences)
and Fran Smith (Behavioral Sciences), work together to locate,
read, and discuss SoTL literature; frame research questions
based on observations of their own teaching and their own students'
learning; explore a variety of classroom assessment techniques;
and collect, analyze, and interpret data. Faculty are further
supported by workshops and one-on-one meetings aimed at identifying
and implementing appropriate research methodologies. For more
