Faculty Inquiry Groups

Faculty inquiry groups are designed to bring faculty together to develop strategies and materials for addressing college-wide faculty concerns over the course of a year. At the end, groups report on and disseminated their work college-wide. In Fall 2008, the following groups have been proposed by faculty:

College Proficiency Exam (CPE) Inquiry Group
A small group of interested faculty members will brainstorm, research and develop ideas with the goal of improving the performances of Kingsborough students on the CUNY College Proficiency Exam. Committed to working together for two semesters, the group will present its findings and recommendations to the college in June 2009.

Math Across the Curriculum (MAC) Inquiry Group
The Math Across the Curriculum (MAC) group will explore and work on ways to incorporate arithmetic, mathematics, and analytical skills into courses in all disciplines (for example, through topic appropriate assignments/projects, linked assignments, department-wide projects, and/or institution-wide project(s) in order to help our students achieve Quantitative Reasoning and Quantitative Literacy.
