In
the Intensive ESL Program, cohorts of up to 25 students take a block
program of five linked courses: ESL (one of three levels); a General
Education course such as Health, History, Psychology, and Sociology;
a Speech course; and two Student Development courses - SD 10, which
focuses on college planning and SD 11, which focuses on career exploration.
Faculty collaborate
to link courses through common student learning objectives, themes,
and assignments. Research conducted by Prof. Bailin Song provides
evidence of successful student learning outcomes. |
