ESL Collaboration

When linking courses together, instructors collaborate and build the link around a common theme. They also identify common student learning objectives and create at least one shared assignment; some develop a shared syllabus or share a common Blackboard course site.

New learning communities begin with faculty members collaborating during the module (Winter or Summer) before the courses begin. Collaboration continues throughout the semester.

Below is a sample collaboration including objectives, assignments, and syllabi for an ESL learning community. This sample is provided by authors for public use, study, copy, modification and reproduction, asking only that they be acknowledged as the original creators.
