Art Smart performances support the Department of Education’s Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts by motivating students and teachers to go beyond the walls of the classroom for more meaningful arts experiences.

TICKETS ARE JUST $7! Teachers attend free (one free ticket per class). Special needs classrooms can receive additional free tickets for paraprofessionals and aides. Ask about Title I schools discounts. Call 718-368-5596 for details.

RESERVE TICKETS FOR YOUR CLASS TODAY – IT’S AS EASY AS ABC!

A. Call 718-368-5596 or email artsmart@kingsborough.edu.
B. Provide the following information:

• School name and number of classes: indicate grade level(s) and any special needs
• Contact name, e-mail address, cell phone & fax numbers for each teacher
• Name of the show and your 1st and 2nd choices for the date
• Total number of tickets (students AND adults) you wish to reserve for each class
• Estimated number of buses; we provide this info to our public safety officers

C. We’ll fax or e-mail you a confirmation of your reservation with payment instructions and other tips for your trip to the theater. Full payment is due one month prior to show or reservation will be cancelled. For payment, we accept teacher or school checks, credit cards (Visa and MasterCard), and cash (large bills only). Payments can also be processed through the D.O.E. Our vendor number is 113022873. The insurance waiver letter and sole vendor letter are available for download on this page.

 

ALL SHOWS START AT 10:30am. Bus drop-off is a 10am. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before curtain time to leave enough time for us to seat your class.

Soul Steps speaks the language of rhythm, bringing to life the centuries-old African tradition of telling stories through step dance. Using their entire bodies as percussive instruments, they trace the history of stepping from the South African gold mines of the 1880s to the slave plantations in the United States to today’s African American fraternities and sororities, where stepping is finding a resurgence.
