Getting Background Information

 

Gale Virtual Reference Library

Enter keywords such as “Kyoto Protocol” or “Environmental Policy” in the search box.  To limit results, search for words in the document title only. Gale Virtual Reference Library is a digital collection of subject encyclopedias, dictionaries, almanacs, and handbooks published by Thomson Gale.

Use the “Guided News Search.”  Select “General News” under the news category and “Major Papers” under the news source.  Enter keywords such as Kyoto Protocol and editorial.  Set date range and click search.  Limit results by entering a specific news source such as The New York Times or The Washington Post in the search box under step five.
