CLICS: CUNY Intra-Library Borrowing

How to place a HOLD or CLICS REQUEST in the CUNY +Plus OPAC

What is a HOLD?  A Hold Request can be placed on a regular CUNY book that IS on loan to a patron.

What is CLICS?     A CLICS Request can be placed on a regular CUNY book that is NOT on loan.

 

Ø      Type in the URL:  www.kbcc.cuny.edu/kcclibrary

 

Ø      Click on the word:  BOOKS → CUNY + Plus

 

Ø      SEARCH for the book you want … by title, author, or subject (this will bring up a Results List)

 

Ø      In the RESULTS LIST (locate the book you want) þ click on the College Name

 

Ø      In the HOLDINGS RECORD þ click on the REQUEST button (found on the left side of the page).  USE THIS SAME BOTTON FOR BOTH HOLDS and CLICS REQUESTS

 

Ø      Remote Patron Authentication Page – here you must identify yourself.  Enter your 14 digit library barcode beginning with 22770… [first time users enter their barcode twice for verification]þ then click on GO  

 (If you have never used the Kingsborough Library you MUST go to the Circulation Desk and ask to have your patron record activated before attempting to log-on).

 To change your password go into “MY ACCOUNT” -  read the instructions carefully

 

Ø      A HOLD REQUEST PAGE will appear.  From the drop down menu choose the college you wish to pick-up the book.  In order to finalize the request  þ click GO

 

Ø       READ THE MESSAGE, in RED, at the top of the page.  It will let you know if the HOLD/REQUEST was placed successfully (it will also inform you if the REQUEST could not be placed).

 

Ø      Please Note:

For a CLICS REQUEST the PICK UP location is any CUNY College EXCEPT the

owning library.        

 

IMPORTANT to ensure security

 

v      When you are finished in the CUNY+ OPAC þ click on END SESSION þ click on GO
