Governor Hochul's NYS Opportunity Promise
Over four million working-age adults in New York State do not have a college degree or credential. Recognizing that higher education can lead to economic opportunities and upward mobility, the Governor's proposal would make community college degrees in New York State free.
This proposal would cover tuition, fees, and books for adult learners ages 25 to 55 who have never earned a degree, so they can pursue associate degrees in high-demand fields such as nursing, teaching, technology, and engineering.
