If you are a Kingsborough student and you have been impacted by the storm there is help. Please call or visit the Single Stop office to find out what resources are available, both on and off campus to assist you and your family. We are here to help.

You've just taken the first step towards self-sufficiency! What does that mean? The ability to provide for yourself and your family.  At Single Stop, we offer supportive services to ensure you have a successful college experience and are able to complete your degree.

FREE Benefits Screening Need help with groceries? Rent too expensive? Need spending money? Unemployed? The benefits screening takes you through a quick series of questions to see which public benefits you qualify for. Once you're done, you discuss your options with your Single Stop Coordinator to see which one(s) would work for you. No fixed schedule - Benefits Screening - V231, Monday - Friday. There are no set office hours because they're really flexible. Please call to set up an appointment. Drop ins are also welcome.

Is this really free?
Yes! It is REALLY free! Kingsborough Community College decided to begin this initiative in collaboration with Single Stop USA in order to support students in achieving their degrees. The college found that a primary reason for students dropping out of school was taking on work responsibilities to meet life priorities, thereby taking longer to finish their degrees or not completing them at all. Kingsborough and Single Stop hope to reduce or prevent that cycle by letting students know which benefits exist to provide them support when they need it.

FREE Tax Preparation
Completely free tax preparation, even if you E-File! Also, complete your taxes with us and you're entered to WIN AN IPOD!! Refer a friend, and get an extra ticket! Tax season is almost over (April 17th) so get too it! Tax Prep - V201, Monday - Thursday, between 10AM and 8PM. Appointments available. Walk ins welcome.

We've encountered ALOT of tax related questions. Feel free to drop by V231 during the tax preparations days and times and the certified tax preparers would be happy to answer your questions.

FREE Financial Counseling
Never had a credit card? Had too many and need to fix your credit? Think your credit is good but you have no idea? Come and see our financial counselor to figure it all out! He can pull your credit report(s), discuss what's on it, help you figure out which bank would work for you and your needs, and more! He'll work with you to achieve your financial goals - however long it takes! He's here every Tuesday 5-8PM and Thursday, from 10am-2pm, by appointment only, V231.

FREE Legal Aid
A lawyer is on site every wednesday from 12-6pm to answer any legal questions, free of charge and completely confidentially. Write an email or call if you'd like to be put on the list to see the lawyer.
