Public Safety

On behalf of the Kingsborough Community College Department of Public Safety, I would like to welcome you to our campus. This website was created to provide crime prevention and safety information to the college community. Please take time to browse our many online educational documents, in addition to a wide variety of public safety articles and tips.

Our College is committed to enhancing the safety and security of the campus for all of its members. The success of the commitment is the result of a combined effort by students, faculty, and staff working together for the campus community to be proactive in their commitment to personal safety. In student and employee orientation programs we promote the idea of being a responsible and involved citizen.

The men and women of the Public Safety Service are held to the highest standards in achieving the level of professionalism the college community has come to expect and deserve.

Our officers are expected to be involved in problem solving, training, communicating and if need be, enforcement of New York State laws and the rules and regulations under which The City University of New York operates.

The College strives to provide a safe environment. The guidelines for a safer environment are outlined in the code of the student rights, "The Henderson Rules." We have implemented security policies and educational programming dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure environment.
