| Our Department
The Office of Public Safety is located on the second floor of the library, L202, and can be reached at (718) 368-5069. Departamental supervisors can be e-mailed at publicsafety@kingsborough.edu In case of emergency call 911 from any campus phone or use one of the many emergency pull-box stations located throughout the campus. The Public Safety administrative staff consists of a Director, Two Lieutenants. Three Sergeants and 17 officers make up a contingent of sworn Peace Officers with the powers of arrest, as set forth in Section 2.20 of the Criminal Procedure Law. Peace Officers attend a two month training program. Their training meets and exceeds all the mandated state requirements for Peace Officers. The department is augmented by a contingent of contracted Security Officers with civilian powers of arrest. There are three supervised shifts daily, seven days a week. Kingsborough Community College provides law enforcement services on campus. Anyone who is the victim of or observes a crime should contact the department of Public Safety by dialing 911 from any on-campus telephone. A follow-up will be conducted of any reported crime for which sufficient information is provided to enable officers to carry out an investigation. All crimes should be reported to enable our department to best utilize our resources. |
