Buildings & Grounds – Heating Plant Operations

The Central Heating Plant provides heating and cooling for the main buildings. The Plant operates 24 hours, seven days a week and is staffed by dual-licensed operating Engineers and High Pressure Plant Tenders. An extensive underground piping system delivers chilled water and medium temperature hot water to each building.

The temporary buildings have self-contained units that provide heating and cooling.

The Boiler Room staff provides regular maintenance for all HVAC systems on campus. Along with providing daily maintenance, Buildings and Grounds continually evaluates mechanical systems and equipment conditions and has an ongoing program to replace equipment before operational problems develop.
