The Office of Academic Affairs
The Office of Academic Affairs is responsible for administering and implementing personnel policies; maintaining personnel files and college records for instructional staff; coordinating adjunct and payroll overload with the academic departments and Human Resources; and issuing personnel vacancy notices for academic personnel.
The Office of Academic Affairs administers the personnel policies as set forth in City University's Bylaws, the Kingsborough Community College Governance Plan, the Instructional Staff collective bargaining agreement, etc.
Implements and administers the policies and procedures of Kingsborough Community College as they pertain to personnel actions affecting the faculty and college laboratory technicians, including reappointment, tenure, promotion and leaves.
Maintains personnel files and College records for all Instructional Staff.
Coordinates the Adjunct and Overload Payroll in conjunction with the Academic Departments and the Office of Human Resources.
Issues Personnel Vacancy Notices for Academic Personnel.
The Office of the Provost and Dean of Academic Programs administers the academic, degree and non-degree, credit offerings of the college. This includes special grant and collaborative programs with other educational institutions, as well as with organizations or businesses seeking higher education or training for credit for their employees; whether on-campus, off-site or via distance learning. The academic credit offerings of the college include all courses offered by the academic departments as electives or required to earn the A.A., A.S. or A.A.S. Degree.
The Office also develops and maintains articulation agreements and course equivalencies between Kingsborough college programs and courses and those of other institutions of higher education. Academic program review and planning are also the responsibility of this office. |
