INSTITUTE OF TUTORIAL SERVICES
DUTIES: Positions in this title
work under direct supervision and tutor various courses within
each department, such as: Mathematics/Computer Science, Biology,
and Physical Sciences. Tutoring can be individually or in a small
group. (click
for more information)
Free tutoring is available for almost all Kingsborough courses
on a first come first serve basis. Therefore, students must apply
early. See Course Listing. Even
if the course needed is not on the list, we may still be able
to find a tutor.
Our Office hours are:
Fall and Spring semester:
Monday through Thursday: 9:00am - 8:00pm, Friday:
8:00am - 4:00pm
Office hours change from time to time; to be accurate,
please check with us.
To get tutoring for the course, the student must be
registered in the course

Procedure:
Step 1: Come to Rm L605 to get an application.
- read Application Information carefully
- application must be
signed by the instructor

Step 2: Bring the completed application back to L605.
- tutoring is by appointment only
- we match
student’s free time with a tutor’s free
time.
- student must keep the appointment for the
entire semester
|

Tutoring can be one to one or in a small
group. The following are different styles of tutoring.

The topic covered in a tutorial session is under
the guidance of the instructor. Therefore, there will be a progress
report sent to the instructor after each tutoring session.
We focus on each and every student individually.
Our emphasis is on the student’s acquiring and practicing
his/her basic skills. Our goal is to enable the student do
well in their curent courses, next level courses and succeed
beyond Kingsborough.
