| Who is Qualified for AMP?
Full time students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and are Black, Hispanic, American Indian, Alaskan Native or Native Pacific Islander are eligible for LSAMP research assistantships. Students are invited to apply based on academic performance.
- High school seniors admitted to a CUNY college
- $1000/summer for 6 weeks, 25 hours per week
- $1000/academic year ($500 per semester)
- Earned at least 12 credits, including at least one credit-bearing course leading to a SMET major and completed with B or better
- Minimum G.P.A. of 2.8
- Freshmen (12-36 credits) - $1,000/academic year
- Sophomores (>36 credits) - $2,000/academic year
- Majoring in a SMET discipline, with B average or better in SMET courses
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Lower Juniors (62-72 credits) - $3,000/academic year
- Upper Juniors (73-100 credits) - $4,000/academic year
- Seniors (>100 credits) - $5,000/academic year
- Must have been a LSAMP Research Assistant for at least one semester
- Full Time Student
- Summer Participation - $3,000
- Transition Initiative Program (TIP)
This is a new scholarship program for outstanding City University or New York science, math, engineering and technology majors established with a gift of $145,000 from the Carver Scholarship Fund. The gift will help broaden minority opportunities in the sciences, math, engineering, and technology disciplines. “The Caver Scholarship Fund's contribution of $145,000 to CUNY's Alliance for Minority Participation could not have come at a better time.
