THE ACCOUNTING LAB  M302

WHAT IS IT?

The accounting lab is a FREE tutoring service for students, that need help in Accounting 11 and 12. During the Fall and Spring semesters there are full time tutors available. During Summer and Winter semesters the lab is open part-time.

Students in other Accounting courses may work independently in the lab.  They may use the computer tutorial programs to review material from the accounting principles text book.

LAB PROCEDURES

Students receive help on a "first-come-first served" basis.
Students must sign in when they enter the lab.
At the end of the semester a report of the total hours that a student spent in the lab will be sent to each Accounting Professor.

WHAT KIND OF HELP IS PROVIDED?Students can either work with the tutors,  or work independently on the computer using a tutorial program. Sometimes, the tutors will work with a group of students, if they are all covering the same topic. The tutors will help the students with their accounting homework and assignments, but students are ultimately responsible for completing their own homework.

The computer tutorial will guide students through the various chapters and then the student may take a multiple-choice exam at the end of each chapter to test their understanding.

INSTITUTE OF TUTORIAL SERVICES:
Students may also receive free "peer" tutoring in most courses, by applying in the library, L605.

Students must pick up an application, in person, have it signed by their instructor, and return it to the Institute. Tutoring is subject to availability and students who apply early in the semester are more likely to find a tutor. Check with the Institute for a list of subjects tutored.
