Special Programs

Kingsborough has many programs which aid students in attaining and completing a college education. Information about the programs can be found at their respective websites, whose links can be found on the KCC Student Resource page located here under "Special Programs." Information about a wealth of other services, such as tutoring and counseling, can be found on that web page as well.

For information about other programs, refer to the Student Handbook found here. Such programs include College Now, College Discovery, ASAP, COPE, Men's Resource Center, and Opening Doors.  These programs provide a range of student support services: MetroCards, funding for books, tutoring, mentoring, etc.

Scholarships

There are a number of financial aid opportunities that are offered specifically to students pursuing a degree in education. Such opportunities may include scholarships, grants, or loan-forgiveness programs. Provided below are links to some programs that have supported many students in their pursuits in education.

Community College Transfer Opportunity Program

CCTOP provides scholarships to students transferring to New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development.

NYC Dept. of Education

The New York City Department of Education offers a variety of financial support programs and incentives for aspiring educators.

UFT Scholarship Fund

The United Federation of Teachers awards many undergraduate and graduate scholarships annually to eligible students from NYC public schools.

Teach NYC 

This is a graduate scholarship program providing tuition assistance for completion of a Master's degree in teaching, paving the way towards certification.
