John Descarfino is a Professor of Painting and Drawing at Kingsborough Community College, CUNY. He has exhibited at the Lucas Schoormans Gallery and participated in group exhibitions at the McNay Art Museum; Blum and Poe Gallery; Galeria Espacio 48; the Berkshire Museum; Centotto; South Broadway Cultural Center, Albuquerque, NM.; and the Parsonage Gallery, Maine. His paintings are included in several public collections including the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebaek, Denmark; JP Morgan Chase; and Capital Group Companies.  His work was reviewed in Artnews, Artnet, The Journal News, and ArteFuse. He received grants from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, The Café Royal Cultural Foundation, and the PSC CUNY Research Foundation.
