A Successful Fall Student Orientation

Over a thousand students were welcomed to Kingsborough Community College (KCC) on August 30, 2023. There are more than 1,700 incoming freshmen and transfer students expected for the 2023-2024 academic year. New students came out to get acquainted with Brooklyn’s only community college and to connect with services during its Fall Student Orientation Day.

“We were delighted by the turnout. Some 900 students registered for the orientation and nearly 1,100 attended,” said KCC President Dr. Claudia Schrader. “The faculty and staff are very welcoming to the new students. In this post-pandemic time, the campus feels like it’s back to normal, with the buzzing of students walking back and forth through the halls. It’s an exciting time for us.”

Students were provided a series of success seminars, introduction to faculty, campus tours, lunch, and the opportunity to get their college photo IDs. Fall classes at KCC begin on September 8. And, this year, Kingsborough will kick off its 60th Anniversary with a Founders Day Celebration on September 12 on campus.
