Message to the Campus

Welcome Back for the Fall 2025 Semester and Important Dates
September 8, 2025
Dear KCC Faculty and Staff,
I am pleased to welcome you back to campus this first day of the academic year. Your passion for your work, dedication to teaching and learning, and enthusiasm for supporting our students make KCC a place where everyone belongs and where our students can thrive.
As we begin the Fall 2025 semester, I’m excited about what we will continue to achieve together. We have welcomed new staff, implemented key organizational changes, and launched new initiatives such as Governor Hochul’s Free Community College for NY Adults to help boost enrollment and student success. We’re also working toward the goals of our 2025–2030 Strategic Plan, preparing the plan for full implementation, and getting ready to submit a supplemental report to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education after our spring 2025 peer review.
I look forward to your joining the Fall 2025 Convocation on Thursday, September 25 at 3 p.m. in U219, where we will share more about the above initiatives, additional organizational updates, and ask you for some feedback on how best to navigate our financial challenges this year.
I also hope that you will take part in the following upcoming campus events planned for the coming weeks, which are great opportunities to connect with colleagues and students as we prepare for the semester ahead:
9/9 KCC Founder’s Day Celebration at 12:30 p.m. in the Cafeteria
9/11 9/11 Remembrance Day at 9 a.m. on The Quad
9/25 Faculty & Staff Convocation at 3 p.m. in U219/220
As we embark on this new academic year together, thank you for your ongoing commitment to our mission, students, and our community. With your support, we will have a productive fall semester.
Sincerely,
Dr. Suri Duitch
President
