November 8, 2021- Mayor-elect Eric Adams mentioned KCC in his attached 100+ Steps Forward for New York City plan on page 20. "MAKE NEW YORK CITY THE WIND POWER HUB OF THE EASTERN SEABOARD With waterfront assets like SBMT, the Red Hook Container Terminal, Port Richmond, the Brooklyn Navy Yard, and others, we have an opportunity to corner the market on wind power manufacturing and other green technologies. We must create a pipeline of education training from middle school, high school, college to educate our young people in this field using the forthcoming Harbor School Middle School, the Harbor School on Governors Island and universities like Kingsborough CC."

November 8, 2021- IMEA Awards Two Scholarships to Marine Trade School Students. Pando, the marine electronics hub, mentioned KCC in their recent article IMEA Awards Two Scholarships to Marine Trade School Students. The International Marine Electronics Alliance (IMEA), a 501 (c) (3) supporting organization of the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA), has awarded two marine electronics industry scholarships to students currently enrolled in marine trade school technology programs. Tyler Perlow, of Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, New York was awarded a $2,500 scholarship along with free attendance to both NMEA basic installer certification training classes. Tyler is working toward becoming a marine technician and achieving a degree in marine technology while also studying as an apprentice at Strong’s Marine.
