What is Awardspring?

Awardspring is an online platform that allows KCC students to view and apply for scholarship opportunities that they qualify for based on factors that include, but are not limited to:

• • Academic Major
  • GPA
  • Credits Accrued
  • Financial Need
  • Extracurricular Accomplishments (ex. volunteering, campus leadership, civic engagement, mentoring, etc.)
  • Completion of Special Projects (research, essays, etc.)

Once you log onto Awardspring and complete the general application (see explanation below), you will be able to view a list of scholarships that are currently available and that you may qualify for. Once you've applied for a particular scholarship, the KCC faculty/staff serving on that scholarships' selection committee will be able to view your application and make their decision.

Completing the KCC/Awardspring General Application

The General Application is your starting point for scholarship opportunities . Complete it once, and your answers will be used to match you with scholarships you may be eligible for — no need to fill out a separate application for each one!

How to Complete Your General Application

1. Log in to the Kingsborough Community College/Awardspring scholarship portal using your student credentials.
2. Start the General Application from your dashboard — look for the "General Application" tile or link.
3. Answer all required questions. These typically cover your academic background, enrollment status, financial need, and any personal or extracurricular details that help match you with relevant scholarships.
4. Save as you go. Your progress is saved automatically, so you can return anytime before the deadline to finish or update your answers.
5. Submit your application. Once complete, click Submit — you'll get a confirmation once it's received.
6. Check your matches. After submitting, the system will automatically show you which scholarships you qualify for based on your answers. You can apply to those directly.

Tips for Success

• Answer every question, even optional ones — more complete answers mean better scholarship matches.

• Double-check your GPA, enrollment status, and financial details for accuracy.

• Submit early! Some scholarships have earlier deadlines than others
