Brooklyn Museum Summer Internship

As a Brooklyn Museum intern, you’ll join a dynamic group of emerging arts professionals to re-envision the future of museums while gaining workplace skills through hands-on, real-world projects. Selected interns will be paired with a supervisor and integrated into one of the museum’s departments, participating fully in day-to-day workplace activities and projects with the guidance of full-time staff members. In addition to gaining extensive work experience, interns will also attend seminars that focus on the role of museums in society today and include intimate conversations with Museum staff. Seminars include intimate conversations with Brooklyn Museum curators, conservators, educators, and collection and exhibition specialists, as well as invited artists and outside experts. Interns also visit local museums and other cultural institutions.
Pay Rate: $17/hr. / Academic Credit Available

NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County Summer Internship Program

A part of the nation’s largest municipal health system empowering New Yorkers to live their healthiest life, Kings County Hospital operates a world-renowned Level 1 Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn. Intern in the following departments: Information Technology, Behavioral Health/ Psychology, Respiratory Therapy, Clinical Labs: Chemistry/Biology/Pathology/Hematology, Finance, HealthCare Admin and Social Work to gain valuable professional experience.
Pay Rate: $24+/hr.

CUNY Cultural Corps

CUNY Cultural Corps is a career development program that places CUNY students in paid internships at cultural organizations throughout NYC. The program was started in collaboration with the NYC’s Department of Cultural Affairs as an effort to create more diversity and equity in NYC’s cultural sector. CUNY Cultural Corps works with a wide range of students. From art history majors looking to get a behind the scenes look at museum operations to accounting majors with a soft spot for the arts. The program work with all majors, backgrounds, and skill levels.
Pay Rate: $20/hr.

Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) National Internship Program (Fall)

Gain valuable work experience through paid internships at federal agencies nationwide such as NASA, USDA and the Library of Congress. HACU matches a student’s career interests, educational background, and previous work or volunteer experience with the needs and demands of our federal and corporate partners. Students receive paid round-trip airfare, housing arrangement assistance, emergency medical insurance, biweekly stipend, and attend an intern orientation. Throughout the internship, students also have the opportunity to participate in professional development, networking, and cultural activities.
Pay Rate: $17.75/hr.

LifeSci NYC

Led by the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and its Life Sciences and Healthcare team, the City’s investment in life sciences will create, produce, and deliver dozens of new cures and treatments, generating thousands of new jobs for New Yorkers—making our city healthier and fairer. The program seeks to provide experience and training for students and recent graduates interested in pursuing careers in the life sciences industry, providing opportunities to work in a wide range of companies, from early-stage startups to large pharmaceutical and biotech firms.
Pay Rate: $16/hr.

By participating in New York State’s Clean Energy Internship Program, you will gain hands-on experience in the growing clean energy sector as either a part-time or full-time paid intern in one of many potential roles. New York State Energy Research and Development Authority has ongoing internship opportunities. NYSERDA is helping prepare the next generation of clean energy workers by funding internships for students and recent graduates at New York State’s clean energy companies through the New York State Clean Energy Internship Program.
Pay Rate: $17/hr.

The Borgen Project Internship

The Borgen Project have several internship and volunteer openings that may be of interest to you, these range from HR, PR/Marketing to writing and journalism. All internship and volunteer programs provide experience in advocacy, mobilizing and fundraising, coupled with real industry exposure and an insight into the nonprofit world. Borgen Project remote internships are work from home roles, weekly deadlines must be met, meetings will be held online and a weekly update of your progress submitted.

Melissa Riggio Higher Education Program

The Melissa Riggio Higher Education Program is a team of dedicated professionals focused on providing individuals with meaningful college experience, relationships and life. Currently, we are establishing a team of devoted college student mentors to provide support to students with intellectual disabilities. College Mentors will provide academic, internship, community and social supports to students enrolled in Melissa Riggio Higher Education Program.

Mentors are thoroughly trained and supervised by our program coordinator and are involved in a variety of activities with our students.
